The Zsófi Faur Gallery was founded in 1997, as one of the first Hungarian private galleries after the change of the regime. As a result of our long-term visual culture message, we have been continuously working as a programme gallery for 15 years.
The main goal of the gallery is the intensive representation of Hungarian contemporary art and photography at international art fairs – this year so far Art Paris 2012, Milan Image Art Fair and Fotofever, Brussels – and the integration of Hungarian artist into the international art scene, beside the establishment of contacts with foreign galleries.
Employing our professional printing background, which is unique in the contemporary art scene of the CEE region, the gallery publishes erudite publications and monographs about the latest developments and insights in contemporary art history in several languages.
The gallery is constantly in search of the latest international trends, as well as foreign artists of emerging significance (including Bianca Regl, Adam Bota, Alfredo Barsuglia, Adam Magyar), to introduce them to the domestic audience and to promote their work among Hungarian art collectors.
In addition to painting and sculpture, the Faur Zsófi Gallery has become an indispensable player on the contemporary photography market over the past several years.
The Faur Zsófi Gallery aspires to cultivate an extensive and dedicated audience attracted by important artworks on display in a vibrant, vital and contemplative environment. At the same time, the gallery intends to continue as a stimulating
and aesthetic agent of contemporary art, maintaining a pleasing “cultural space” to which our patrons happily return again and again.
